शहरी गली की गन्दगी में
गाँव की टूटी झोपडी में
सूखी पड़ी नहर के पानी में
या बड़े बड़े गड्ढों वाली सड़क पे
मेरे सपनो का भारत कहाँ है ?
शहर के चोराहे पे भीख मांगते बच्चे की आखों में
सरकारी अस्पताल में दम तोड़ते गरीब की साँसों में
सूखे हुए म्युनिसिपेलिटी के नल की प्यास में
कल की रोज़ी रोटी की आस में
मेरे सपनो का भारत कहाँ है ?
बचपन से मैंने आखें खोल के जिन सपनो को देखा था
जिन ऊँचाइयों पे मैंने देश को सोचा था
जवानी में सीने में जो गर्व की हवा को मैंने भरा था
आज वो आखें, वो सोच और वो सीना कहाँ है
