Pietersen hit Junaid Khan for a six and took a single in the next over to reach his 100 off 136 balls and finished with 12 fours and 2 sixes.

When Kieswetter was out, England still required 61 but Samit Patel (17 not out) in the company of Pietersen brought England within 2 runs of the win when Pietersen dismissed to Saeed Ajmal.

Pakistan 237/10 (50.0 ov) alla out and highest scorers were Azhar Ali (58), Asad Shafiq (65), Misbah-ul-Haq (46).
