Ekk Deewana Tha Movie Review kicking off with the star cast Prateik, Amy Jackson, Manu Rishi and the praiseworthy portion of the flick is that few light-hearted scenes; the Hosanna song. The ugly sprinkles over the movie are that the routine story; the weak screenplay.
What we here from the people who have came out from the theater post watching the movie goes on to blast the heroine of the film, British actress Amy Jackson had played the Ek Deewana Tha’s heroine Jessie, a Malayali Christian girl based in Mumbai, and the actress Jackson is not looking like an Indian as her dark hair does not met a beauty of an Indian woman! Her features are a somewhat too English to be convincing Amy looked not up-to the beauty simply putting it she got a worst make-up that ever seen on a B-town heroine.
Southern star filmmaker Gautham Menon returned to Bollywood with his second flick. The director had seen huge success with his Tamil flick Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, post that he planned and rocked the Telugu audience with Ye Maaya Chesave. Now, he didn’t want to miss any opportunity as he used the same iconic love story to Hindi as Ek Diwana Tha. But despite being putting his own dramatic and emotional moments, he stuck with tight story that failed to shine and the viewers reported always seeing an exit door of the movie at boring sequences.
Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa has got fascinating drama involved with a fabulous love story and Gautham Menon has changed several aspect including climax to match taste of Hindi audience in Ek Deewana Tha. Bollywood’s rising star Prateik Babbar’s performance in the only the good portion to watch out for. AR Rahman’s music is mind-blowing and its majestic, Javed Akthar’s lyrics typical, Gautham’s story, MS Prabhu’s camera work and phenomenal locations are the other highlights of the film. The Dhobi Ghat Pratheik Babbar has intricate role and he has played it in matured style.
If we forget watching Amy Jackson as Indian she looked blonde and gorgeous and has carried off her role neatly. Others like Manu Rishi, Sachin Khedekar, Babu Antony, Ashwin Kakumanu, Samantha and Ramesh Sippy have done good job to their respective roles. Indians most favorite music creator AR Rahman’s musical score is the huge attraction in the technical section and the his scoring ‘Hosanna’ is pick of everyone.
MS Prabhu went out for capaturing some spectacular visuals and he has wonderfully bagged the scenic beauty of Kerala. Manu Rishi’s dialogues are fine. However, editor Anthony Gonsalves could have not dragged the movie for too long time.
Overall, Ek Deewana Tha is a decent romantic flick!

Ekk Deewana Tha Story
If one can observe the present the generation the love is pops out in no time that’s happens in the Ek Deewana Ta as well. Which has well inserted drama and emotions with very beautiful moments in the first half. But the story rolling out is very slow in the second hour and a few episodes pulls off the viewers concentration from the world of Sachin and Jessie.
Sachin played by Prateik who is a BE graduate born in a middle class family in Mumbai, but he wants to turn out as a director. One day, he sights a gorgeous lady and falls in love with Jessie (Amy Jackson) instantly. Jessie who cannot tell her love with her parents as who belongs to an orthodox Malayali Christian family, tries to cut off a friendship between them. What happens next will form the crux of the movie.
