Rafale Jets from France will fly Indian Air Force Eurofighter typhoon loses the race

Across the World the EuroFighter Typhoon and Rafale were shortlisted, and from those 2 IAF has selected Rafale (Rafale had been much cheaper unit-wise) and rejected EuroFighter Typhoon as they failed to meet the technical qualifications specified by the IAF.

IAF has selected RafaleIndia selected the French company’s Rafale fighter jet for the billion dollar contract after 5 years of technical and commercial evaluations. Dassault Aviation said its Rafale fighter had been selected by the IAF and guarantees to meet the country’s operational needs.

According to deal of IAF, France has to supply 18 fighter jets to the IAF in fly-away condition in 2015, and the remaining aircrafts to be manufactured in India over 6 years after transferring the important technology to the state-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).
