Indian diamond merchants & workers: 14 of the 22 Indian diamond merchants & workers are in Chinese jails for 2 years will be returning home in a day following a judgment by the court in South China’s Shenzhen city on December 7th 2011. Indian diamond merchants & workers: Workers were arrested in January 2010 for smuggling diamonds worth $7 million from Hong Kong to China. Founded the 22, 14 are from Mumbai and eight from Surat.

1. The court deported 11 of the arrested after it found they may not be completely involved in diamond smuggling.
2. One has been fined Rs. 80 lakhs 10  Yuan.
3. Other person will undergo an extra month in jail because he has served one year 11 months of his two-year sentence.

Narendra modi and Dinesh Navadia, president of Surat Diamond Association were thankful to the Chinese authorities.
