Released after 10 months, Indian gang of MV Suez reach Delhi

, Indian gang of : Six Indian were released by Somali pirates, after 10 months. Their family members felt happy. On Thursday arrived at city and on Friday they reached to Delhi. Those people were part of the 22-member crew of the MV Suez cargo ship on August 2010. The vessel was hijacked on 2 August last year. The crew of panama were 11 Egyptians, 6 Indians, 4 Pakistanis, 2 Sri Lankans.

In February 28 members suspected Somali pirates captured in the Indian Ocean, they were released to the Indian police on Friday they came to Indian capital city Delhi. Sailors families has no hopes on their release but now they felt happy by seeing them on Airport in Delhi.

A ceremony was conducted at the Sindh governor house on Thursday evening to welcome the released sailors.

According to sources, “On August 2, 2010, the MV Suez, a merchant vessel was attacked and hijacked by small arms fire from Somali pirates. After the attack, navies in the area attempted to make contact with the MV Suez, but were unable to do so. The MV Suez has a deadweight of 17,300 tonnes. A ransom of $2.1 million was paid by Pakistani rights activist Ansar Barni for the release of the vessel and its crew; and escort to Pakistan by two Pakistani warships – PNS Babur and PNS Zulfiqar.”

Satnam Singh’s father Shamsher Singh says with news agency about his son “I had lost hope completely. But after I spoke to Ansar Burney in April, my hope was rekindled.” Laila Wasi, the daughter of MV Suez’s captain told reporters that the promise made by the Sindh governor to bring her father back home was fulfilled. All of the sailors family members have criticised the Indian government for giving security to their release. Captain Wasi thanked the governor. He was also thanking to the naval ships PNS Zulfiqar and PNS Babar for bringing them back home.

Finally sailors reached home safely, this is the good news to all of sailors family.
