In a shocking incident Sudarshan Guttedar an employee of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) india’s largest IT company has committed suicide reportedly after a spat with management. the facts of the matter are not yet clear but the police has indicated that this looks clearly a case of suicide.
Sudarshan Guttedar who was just 22 and was working as a software engineer with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), died on Friday afternoon immediately after falling from the 11th floor office building in ITPL campus. He was rushed to the nearest hospital but was declared brought dead by the hospital autorities.
Sudarshan Guttedar has joined TCS on March 13 and was working as a trainee engineer. There are reports that he was planning to quit his job. He had given his resignation and was waiting to be relieved from the company. But the company did not want to relieve him. It wanted to retain him. In this regard was a verbal spat between some officials at TCS and Sudarshan.
Initially there was a coverup by indicating this as a suicide for failed relationship. But later new facts have been revealed by the colleagues.
Who is responsible for the death of an young engineer? The company, someone in local management, the security at the ITPL building or he himself – only the time will tell?

I first pray for his soul to rest in peace, and feel sad for his family members where a life taken by TCS cannot be compensated.
Their parents should file a FIR against TCS intially and should trigger this racket from behind whoever is involved.
First and foremost they should find the Project HR,Reporting manager if he has really got release from the project or if he is unallocated then they should pull the RMG HR where the division is headed by CHAKRAVARTHY(CHAKKU).
If they have really forced Sudarshan to take the support project or asked him to leave the company is very bad top management decision.The Project HR is acting and pretending to the Senior Consultants or Principle consultants to safeguard their seat.So they relase them to the RMG and the RMG inturn now took such a innocent life of Sudarshan.So the role wise acting people like Project manager,Program Manager,Portfolio Manager should be interrogated throughly.TCS people like Chandra sitting in Mumbai and counting only the TCS profit/loss doesn’t make sense.Bangalore TCS requires a lot of Project HR’s to be fired first and then Associate Consultant’s,Assistant Consultant’s and RMG HR too.
TCS will take more lives if the top management is not going to act right now.

I belong to the same place,same project and same management where Sudarshan committed suicide.I am very much sure that Sudarshan was threatened and blackmailed , just like management does to others employees every now and then.If all the colleagues and others associates will be discussed and questioned , then so many shocking facts will be come into picture about managers and HR in TCS.

HR and management have formed firm lobby and then they are surrounding poor associates and threatening them.
Hundreds of mails and such concerns have been send to HR (in this case HR is Madhulika Singh), but instead of doing anything +ve she is indulge in all crap politics. Tamil Lobbing is common most phenomenon there.

TCS is hiring very young needy graduates and extracting work like anything. I worked in the same place and same project where this suicide happened. I have witnesses N numbers of such cases where harassment cross all its limits.
For Young and emotional guys such conditions are really very fatal , in TCS, specially in TCS ITPL.
HR and RMG along with management is exceptionally united in such crap and there lobby makes life hell for all employees. But for young and new joiners things are even worst.

TCS is known for taking such steps. This is not new and has been going on for ages since the days of FC Kohli and Ramadorai. The infamous training bond, overseas bond and more was there for ages. The RMG in some or other name like was always present.
All you IT guys are aware of this and despite all this you join TCS? Why? They are not forcing you to join. Or they?
You join them because you do not have any other opportunity. You deserve TCS and that is why you join TCS. You want to use TCS as platform to rise in your career. Now why just say crap about them.
If you have guts come out in open complaint against any wrongdoing. Give justice to the Sudarshan and his family.

People, pl dont malign the company name.I have been in this company for more than 7 yrs and this hardly a place where people face pressure……
Dont make this a forum to vent out ur anger against ur unsatisfied employer.
I believe that no company/boss is this big a reason to drive an employee to suicide.

Please dont blame the company. All IT industries have pressure. There are numerous companies which puts more pressure on employess than TCS .. If you cant take pressure leave the IT industry , why simply blame the company. I have been with TCS from past 4 years and have been happy to be part of this company. Just bcause one person could not handle pressure , you cant blame the company.

Comment posted above by Bhavana , Raj Masand and A.S sounds rational and logical .. but .. here .. fact is that these guys must have absolutely no idea about what is happening in DSR-IT Support project in TCS ITPL Explorer building.
I too believe that TCS is less-pressure company in most of the cases but unfortunately I am working in DSR-IT -Support and I can say that all the cry against these managers , HR and work culture is not baseless and most of these are correct.
Funny — thing again is Raj Masand might be using this platform to get into good books of TCS managers by writing his full and actual name and showing his loyality to TCS. God only knows does he have any ides about DSR-IT support project.
A$$ lickers of these managers are also big cause for ruined culture in TCS.

TCS is good organisation and now when such thing happened TCS higher management must take some serious action and measures so that such incidents will occur again.
This Suicide is not a result of one day or one moment of madness or complete rush of blood by one highly pressurized youth. It is much more than that.
I am working in same place and project and I can bet things will get worse if serious action will not be taken .
This Forum must not be use to write against TCS but at the same time is should be used for personal gain and earning good impressions from TCS management.
Truth is truth and justice must happen.
TCS might be good but no org.can afford to do this to any employee or any human.

I have worked in the same project and with the same HR. Here work pressure is really high than any other projects in TCS. Threatening of employees by HR and managers are very common in this Project. I felt like slave there, so I left that project after long struggle.

I quit TCS ITPL Bangalore because of same reason. No matter how much you perform as a fresher in TCS, your manager don’t show any pity on you. Honestly speaking, even I got frustrated by manager’s cheap and rude behavior and the only way to grow-up in TCS is by “licking the ass of manager”. Forget about HR, they are just puppets in the hand of manager.
If you believe and have confidence in your talent and caliber, first you show the middle finger to manager and second look for opportunities outside. Believe me friends, still there are many companies who respects your talent.

Managers are not professional enough, they come up the ladder without enough knowledge and just through contacts. There are managers who blackmail people, I personally know people telling that ‘I want to suicide’ ! Heart breaking. Actions must be taken.
And for those who feel bad about the company and want to leave, Just dont leave, let company pay for your absence.
Day will come where their sons/daughters commit suicide in school/college/office.

I agree that there is firm lobby between managers and HR. HR is tcs in horrible…They are so inexperienced and not capable of handling any situation and so so much dependant on the managers to keep their job. Atleast they know that their job will be on toss if they were against managers …the juniors cannot not do any harm to them..

After 9 years of experience, I will say Harassment and TCS are one and same words. Company HR and management doesnt care about you. They pluck freshers out from college and make them slog. To answer question – you deserve TCS ? Yes but not at price of unethical behaviour, regional discrimition, regular bulling and pressures. Code is conduct is purely mystical and hr doesn’t even know the meaning of respect for individual
Given the opportunity nobody will stick with tcs and that shows the kind of company tcs is. only management is filling its pocket with bonus shares and cash (performance related bonus).
Truly, the top worst companies to work with.

I am with TCS for past 4 years. I would say it’s not only TCS, but all MNCs follow the same culture. Indian and corporate. Fraud Indian culture covered with corporate label. One of the reason y employees suffer is lack of a union as in other industries. There is no one to question the management/boss. Most employees behave like robots programmed to obey the commands of their boss. Even if they disagree, no use. At the end of day u face the apprisal, so most employees do not question. And another reason, outside world do not see what goes on inside. In my opinion, do not leave the company, stay and fight. Don’t be SLAVES of the 21st century.
