Leena Manimekalai: Ulagain Azhagiya Poem is in Controversy, Hindu Makkal Katchi has filed a complaint against Leena Manimekalai for the poem posted in her blog, depicting women in an obscene manner.

Indu Makkal Katchi (Tamil Nadu) has approached the city police commissionerate to file a complaint against a independent filmmaker and poet for posting poems in her blog that were allegedly obscene.

Hindu Makkal Katchi(HMK) is a Hindu political party in Tamil Nadu founded in the 1990s after the fued from Hindu Munnani. HMK has earlier also HMK opposed actresses like Mallika Sherawat and Shriya Saran fordressing in minimalcothes in public appearances.

Hindu Makkal Katchi has also opposed the views of actress Khusboo in several occasions and have filed the cases against them for misrepresenting Indian culture.

Checking upon the blog, Kannan felt the poet had portrayed women in an obscene manner.

He then read Leena’s book ‘Ulagin Azhagiya Muthal Penn’ which also contained similar content.

Kannan asked the police to take action against and remove the obscene contents the poet’s blog and also ban the sale of her book.
