Following are the Karnataka State Budget 2010 Highlights:
- 1000 new Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) to be opened under Public Private Pratnership (PPP )in rural areas.
- Rs 5 cr Sanskrit University in Bangalore
- Rs 25 cr for improving roads in Coorg
- Rs 425 cr to develop new areas under BBMP.
- Rs 250 cr for widening of all state highways.
- 4 lane highway between Hubli – Dharwad at the cost of Rs 50 Crores.
- Better drainage system promised for Bangalore.
- 1 per cent Hike in VAT from the next Financial year.
- Life time tax for cars and bikes to go up.
- Rs 2 cr allotted for Solar Lamp subsidy.
- Industrial Export center at Mysore.
- Rs 3000 cr for development of roads and flyovers in Bangalore.
- 13 pc Tax on vehicles priced above 5 Lakhs.
- 15 pc Tax on Tobacco products.
- Rs 15,440 Crores for Steel Zone in Bellary
- 8% increase in luxuary tax
- Rs 8, 830 cr allotted for primary education
- New Agricultural University in Shimoga
- 1,000 acres for districts to build industrial townships
- Rs 583 cr for urban development
- Rs 1,000 cr for 1,000 villages
