Gireesh Puthenchery No More : Lyricist and screen writer

Gireesh Puthenchery, 48 yrs old was a noted Malayalam lyricist and screen writer is no more. Girish Puthenchery passed away due to brain haemorrhage. He died at a private hospital on Wednesday Feb 10,2010 and was survived by his wife Beena and two children.

He got the Kerala State Film Awards for best Lyricist for 7 times and also the famous awards like Asianet film Awards and many others.

There are a lot of good Girish Puthenchery songs in our mind. The speciality of his songs are the simplicity in words, flexibility and the rememberable lyrics. Girish Puthenchery wrote lyrics for several hit songs as well as the scripts for the films like “Melapparambil Aanveedu”,”Vadakkumnaathan”, etc…

He started his career in 1989 film “Enquiry”, Girish Puthenchery wrote the lyrics for more than 2500 for more than 300 Malayalam films.  Currently Girish Puthenchery is scripting a film by the name “Raman Police”.
