Hero Honda buys Kings XI Punjab from Preity Zinta, Ness Wadia etc

Kings XI Punjab Logo has bought from , , and ? There are unconfirmed reports. Hero Honda; the leading bike manufacturer in India whose Hero Honda caimpaign has many crickers and film stars; has according to news reports has bought team Kings XI Punjab for an unconfirmed amount of $260 million.

It may be recalled that during the season 2 in South Africa the team owners Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia have personally spilt up. Ever since the breakup in relationship there were talks of selloff were going on.

With this Kings XI Punjab; led by captain Kumar Sangakkara, has become the first team to be sold and that too at a whopping premium. This will pave the way for others and in the due course it may be that the film stars will exit and sell their stakes to business owners.

The IPL season 3 will begin from March 12. This buyout may lead to a shakeup in the team structure as the focus of new owners will be on performance rather than reputation. But the fans will sure miss Preity … and yes some of players too who were hugged by her frequently. Teams performance may go down as their motivation may not be there (writing in a lighter way).
