Jyoti Basu critical the veteran Communist Party of India Marxist (CPI-M) leader who had been admitted to hospital after a pneumonia attack is reported to be in a very critical condition. Jyoti Basu has been admitted to AMRI Hospital in Kolkota where a six member medical panel is treating him.
The AMRI Hospital Medical Superintendent Debasish Sharma has told media that “Mr. Jyoti Basu’s condition is serious.”
Jyoti basu was born in 1914 in Kolkata. Mr. Basu became chief minister in June 1977 and he stepped down voluntarily on health grounds in November 2000 – becoming the longest serving Chienf Minister in India. Jyoti Basu was one of the founding members of the CPI(M). Jyoti Basu was almost proposed to become the prime minister of india in 1996 – however CPIM ruled against the proposal.
Jyothi Basu (95) was hospitalised last week after a pneumonia attack. Mr. jyoti basu was admitted to the Intensive Cardiac Care Unit (ICCU) of the AMRI hospital in Salt Lake Kolkata.
