Kurbaan Story / Kurban Plot

The film, set against the backdrop of global terrorism , will feature real life couple Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor in pivotal roles along with actor Vivek Oberoi, Rupinder Nagra, Om Puri and Kirron Kher

Avantika Ahuja (Kareena Kapoor) who lives in the US, returns to Delhi after her father has a cardiac arrest. While in Delhi she meets Ekaaksh (Saif Ali Khan), a Delhi University Professor. While Avantika teaches Psychology, Ekaaksh is a professor. Avantika and Ekaaksh have sex and share love scenes throughout the movie which is played by Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor. Later they get married and move to the US.

And what happens after that is quite interesting. Avantika realizes that she is a pawn in Ekaaksh’s game. He turns out to be a terrorist who marries her in order to cover up his identity. Avantika is kept under house arrest. Sooner Avantika also finds out that Ehsaan plans to bomb several metro stations in New york. Sooner Avantika also finds out that Ekaaksh plans to hijack a flight and one of the passengers on that flight is Ritesh (Vivek Oberoi), a journalist.

Avantika tries to foil the plan with the help of Riyaaz (Vivek oberoi) and is successful to some extent. Ehsaan finds out that Avantika is also carrying bomb and then he had change of heart and doesn’t kill Riyaaz when he comes to know that he betryed him. Riyazz tries to save the people at the train stations.

Ehsann sacrificies himself at the end.

Kurbaan Review

Kurbaan 2009 movie has taken a new form and story although it has got many criticisms as “Jihad” movie but director denies it. This movie is based on global terrorism and which revolves around the romantic thriller.

Kurbaan meaning ‘Sacrificed’ in Urdu has made the public curious due to sensational scenes between the lovebirds Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor. The “hot” chemistry between the lead pair Saif and Kareena is the highlights of the film though it has terrorism as its backdrop. Though the movie has similarities with John Abraham’s New York – but limited to few areas.

Overall the movie is worth seeing. There are scenes in the movie which you may not like to see with your kids or parents – so go with like minded people. There is lot of action and sex – if you like that.

Kurbaan Controversy

The topless poster and the talks about their lovemaking scene openly was well taken by media and people. There is news that ShivSena party has threatened to stop its screening if the makers of the film don’t delete the particular scene – bare back poster. Censor Board rated this movie as A certificate. Our advice to viewers is that they must watch this film immediately before some sena (whether MNS or Shiv sena or ???) takes action – goes to streets and government is forced to cut the hot scenes. Or else you may miss the hot scenes of the pair.
