Men’s Day – International day for Men on November 19

Men’s Day or Mens Day is an international event celebrated on November 19 every year. International Men’s Day was started in year 1999 in Trinidad and Tobago. The day was supported by the United Nations, and received in support from men’s groups in USA, Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean. The original idea was to give some gender balance, focusing on men’s and boy’s health, improving gender relations, promoting gender equality, and highlighting positive male role models.

Men’s Day is an occasion for men to highlight discrimination against them and to celebrate their achievements and contributions, in particular for their contributions to community, family, marriage, and child care.

International Mens Day in India

In 2009 India received the first corporate sponsorship of the International mens day with Famous menswear brand Alan Solly decided to create promotional offers on the international mens day and HBO the TV channel decided to screen male posive movies in its men are back series on november 19th.
