Mr. Allen Mendonca was an excellent friendly, and an encouraging human being. Despite his successes and fame, he never breathed any attitude which he could have so easily taken on. He was always present at various events, and would be easily recognized, and people would flock towards him. I have known him for a while. It has always been wonderful interacting with him, at various levels. He has written about us in the Times, many a time. A very humble man, for his fame. May his soul rest in peace, and may his family have the strength to bear the loss of a wonderful member.

I was Allen’s class mate in St. Joseph’s college, Bangalore, in PUC, 1976 – 1978. He was a real nice person. He had sung the song “Rhinestone cowboy” strumming on his guitar, on one of the occassions in college. He had written down the lyrics of the song for me on my request. I am unfortunate I never met him after passing out of PUC. I heard of him passing away when Rohit Barker mentioned that on Radio Indigo and I confirmed it was the same person later, on seeing his picture in the news paper. He was a wonderful person.
