Rains in New Delhi – weather in New Delhi

Heavy Rains in New Delhi have paralyzed the city today. Heavy rain showers and two subsequent thunder storms took New Delhi by surprise on Friday afternoon and evening. This is the first thundershower, – weather in New Delhi which hit the dry capital.

Met department says that the storm is caused by a cyclonic circulation over Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir. The convective cloud cluster from north Pakistan moved eastwards during the day and is now hovering over Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Delhi.

Traffic

Heavy rainfall disrupted traffic in many parts of New Delhi and there were several reports of tree falling in many areas. Road traffic is badly affected in many areas.

Air and Rail traffic though not disrupted is said to be affected marginally.
