Saina Nehwal became the first Indian woman to qualify for the World badminton championships quarter finals by defeating Bulgarian Petya Nedelcheva on Thursday at Hyderabad. Saina Nehwal (19) came back in the game strongly after losing the opening game to post an 18-21, 21-18, 21-10 victory. Spectators went in numbers to see Sania Nehwal play who has just recovered from chiken pox.
6th seeded Nehwal will now clash with 2nd seeded Chinese Wang Lin who won over Korean Hwang Hye Youn, a 21-10, 23-21.
