UPTU SEE 2009 Couselling has been cancelled as a court proceeding is pending in supreme court. The state entrance examination (SEE 2009) . (SEE)-2009, which was scheduled to begin from Friday.
The cancellation is said to come in the wake of a pending special leave petition (SLP) filed by the university against a high court order vis-a-vis reservation in private engineering colleges. The order was given on a petition filed by some private colleges seeking quashing of reservation in private colleges. The university, however, moved a SLP in the Supreme Court against the said order.
The university has decided that the counselling will be cancelled till the apex court delivers a judgment on July 17. He said that it would be after the apex court decision that the next date for counselling would be decided.
The new date would be announced through the website and media. A notice to this effect, said the UPTU registrar, would be put on July 18.
