Gay couple Amrit and Jeeta marry in Chandigarh – India’s first Gay marriage

Gay couple marry in Chandigarh in what could be termed as First gay marriage in India. This is after the landmark judgment of Delhi High Court to read down Article 377. Two 18 year old men – Amrit and Jeeta despite the protests from family and society, went to a temple and got married in Chandigarh.

In perhaps the first gay marriage after the Delhi High Court in a landmark judgment read down Article 377, a law that made even consensual sex between adult homosexuals a punishable offence, two 18-year-old men, brushing aside protests from family and jeers from society, went to a temple near their house in Chandigarh and “got hitched for life”. A thin crowd of gays and a few well-wishers gathered to cheer the newly wed couple.

Baba Ramdev moves to Supreme Court against high court decision

Meanwhile Baba Ramdev – the Yoga Guru moved to supreme court against the order of Delhi High Court. Baba Ramdev is of the opinion that Homosexuality can be cured.
