Muslims in India oppose making Gay sex legal – say it is against tenets of Islam

Gay sex is against – says Deoband -a leading Islamic organization. This will be a hit on cause whose celebrations are shortlived. It may recalled that Central Government was thinking about repeal a controversial section of the penal law which criminalises homosexuality. Cheered by the news that the Centre is considering repealing the controversial section of the IPC, members of the gay community on Sunday held parades in several cities.

Here is what some of the leading Muslim organizations say:

Darul Uloom Deoband
“Homosexuality is an offense under Shariat Law and haram (prohibited) in Islam,” deputy vice chancellor of the Darul Uloom Deoband Maulana Abdul Khalik Madrasi

All-India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB)
“Gay activities are crime…homosexuality is punishable under Islamic law and section 377 of IPC should not be tampered” – Maulana Salim Kasmi, vice-president of the All-India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB)

“It would be harmful for the society to legalise gay sex” – Maulana Mohd Sufiyan Kasmi, an AIMPLB member

they may be a LGBT or whoever they may be all are equal before law, there should be no discrimination, if we discriminate them we have to amend our constitution, then.
Better accept them as they are, legalise their marriages. they are also like others.
