Dr Anil Wilson, 61, the renowned educationist and the most popular principals of St Stephen’s College has expired who has been suffered from pancreatic cancer and he has taken lats breath around 10 a.m. at his residence.Family, friends, students and staff of the college gathered at the St James’ Church where he was buried on Thursday evening. Dr. Wilson joined St. Stephen’s College as Principal in 1991as he headed the institute for over 15 years and taught English.Wilson was a graduate in Science with additional English from the Panjab University and then on his interest later he joined for Masters degree in English Literature from the Centre for PG Studies, Shimla. Everyone student treated him as a role model for work culture.
Awards for Wilson
Wilson had received numerous awards. Prominent among them are the Beresford Hope Award received in 1984 from the St Augustine’s Foundation, England; the Soka University Award of Highest Honour in 1992 in Tokyo; the Indira Gandhi Priyadarshini Award for contribution to education in 1999, and the Distinguished Educationist Award in 2001.
