Shiney Ahuja arrested on rape charges
Shiney Ahuja – Bollywood actor – was arrested this Monday on rape charges after preliminary tests conducted on his domestic help confirmed sexual assault. The complainent has charged that Shiney Ahuja raped her while his wife Anupam Ahuja / anu ahuja was not at home on this Sunday afternoon. Shiney Ahuja is likely to be produced before a magistrate’s court on Tuesday. According to reports Oshiwara police in Mumbai on Sunday evening detained Ahuja for questioning.
Shiney Ahuja’s 18-year-old maid who had been working with Ahuja for the last one-and-a-half months has approached the Oshiwara police at around 7 pm and told the police that Ahuja had raped her. The complainant told the police that she had come for domestic work to Ahuja’s flat. The actor’s wife was not at home. Actor took maid into his bedroom, gagged and raped her. The incident took place between 3 pm and 5 pm on Sunday.
The victim was traumatised after the incident and went to her relatives’ place who along with the girl then approached the police station. Soon after the complaint was registered, the girl was sent to the Nagpada police hospital for a medical examination late Sunday night.
According to unconfirmed reports Shiny claimed that he had sex with the consent of the maid. However, she has claimed that she was forced into it. The police officer added that they had to accept the woman’s version.
Shiney Ahuja is an Indian actor, who won Filmfare Best Debut Award for Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi in 2006. Ahuja is known for his roles in films like ‘Hazaroon Khwaishe, ‘Aish’ and ‘Gangster’.
Shiney Ahuja (original name Roshan Ahuja) is a relative of Poonam Dhillon and was born on May 15 1973 in New Delhi. He is married to Anupam Ahuja (née Pandey), from Delhi, of Bihari descent. They have a daughter together, born in 2007.
