Established in 1980, Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM) is the dream child of an inspired group of eminent intellectuals and industrialists of Andhra Pradesh, India, led by popular parliamentarian Dr. M V V S Murthi, M.A., B.L., Ph. D. to set up a world class centre of learning in technology, management and medicine in the picturesque port city of Visakhapatnam.

GITAM started with its establishment of College of Engineering. Responding to the expanding needs in the fields of technology, management and medicine and it now has following colleges:
