Nudi a computer program and font-encoding standard used for managing and displaying the Kannada script. Kannada is the script for kannada language and is used in southern state of India – Karnataka.
The Karnataka government owns and makes Nudi freely available; it was developed by the Kannada Ganaka Parishat (KGP) which is a non-profit organisation which is still engaged in developing and updating this program.
Most of the fonts included with NUDI can be used for dynamic font-embedding purposes; however, since the fonts and software are available freely, they can be used in other situations as well, for example database management.
