Ahobila Matam is a Sri Vaishnava religious institution establsihed 600 years ago in a place called Ahobilam by Srimad Athivan Satakopan.At Ahobilam, the Lord himself initiated Srinivasachar into Sanyasam (monasticism) and gave him the title, “Satakopa Jeeyar”.
Sri Ahobila Muth Educational Institutions has the following five independent constituents catering to the specific educational needs of the society.

The Sanskrit college was founded in 1942 (Chitra-bhanu year) with the primary objective to offer quality education in Indian sastric systems, particularly in Vyakarana and Nyaya strictly following traditional custom. Since then this institute has produced nearly 500 Vidwans and among them many have occupied high positions and excelled in their professional careers. Few notables among them have even received the Government of India President’s award.
The present H.H. 45th Srimad Azagiyasingar was a Presidency Gold Medalist of this institute. The present Srmath Andavan is also a proud product of this institute.
The college is affiliated to Madras University and offers 5-year Oriental Title Siromani courses in three branches, namely, Nyaya, Vyakarana and Visishtadvaita Vedanta.

The Patasala was founded in 1942 (Chitra-bhanu year) with the primary objective of producing Ganapatis in Krisna Yajur vedam. Normally this course is of seven-year duration.

The Patasala was founded in 1942 (Chitra-bhanu year) with the primary objective of producing prabhandadhikaris. This is a four-year course having 4000-divyaprabhandam and Desika prabhandam as the subjects of study.
Srivansatakopa Sri Veeraraghava Satakopa Yateendra Mahadesikan. The 43th Srimad Azhagiyasingar of Sri Ahobila Muth (Devanavilagam Azhagiyasingar).
The Oriental High School was founded in 1952 with the primary objective of providing oriental education, starting at the school level, with Sanskrit learning as the focus so as to be a feeder to the Sanskrit College. In 1962 The School was recognized by Tamilnadu state government to offer oriental education up to 10th standard under the Tamilnadu State Education Board. The school till now has provided school education to nearly 1000 students.

This establishment was started in June 2002 with the objective of creating a pool of competent human resource as per the current demand through diploma/degree-based vocational courses in those areas where formal education system does not exist. At present a 2-year diploma course on Panchratra Agama is being planned to start in Aug 2002.
