IIT JEE 2009 examination was held all over India on April 12, 2009. The solutions, answer keys and expected cut off are being release by the number of IIT coaching institutes. IIT JEE 2009 exam is the most prestigious technical entrance exam in India.
More than 4 lakhs students have appeared for the IITJEE examination for which results will be published on May 25, 2009.
Change in Pattern: IITs known for changing Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) pattern every year and this year too, some of the students confused with the change in the pattern.
Cut off: As per Career Launcher the leading IIT training Institute the cut off for the IIT JEE 2009 will be about 180

IIT JEE Rank and Cutoff
The paper this year is said to be easier than last year – but there are some of the other opinion. Last year the cutoff for the general category was 180 marks (AIR 6773) and this year too the cutoff is expected to be a notch above last year considering the increase in seats (total seats are expected to be about 8000 this year) and aspirants. We are of opinion that there will be a cuoff between 185 to 190.
The expected cutoff for IIT JEE 2009 should be around 185 to 190. You can check your expected ranks from the table below.
- Score ->> Rank (AIR)
- Above 330 ->> Top 100
- 330 to 301 ->> 100 to 500
- 300 to 281 ->> 500 to 1000
- 280 to 261 ->> 1000 to 1500
- 260 to 251 ->> 1500 to 2000
- 250 to 231 ->> 2000 to 3000
- 230 to 216 ->> 3000 to 4000
- 215 to 206 ->> 4000 to 5000
- 205 to 196 ->> 5000 to 6500
- 195 to 191 ->> 6500 to 8000
- 190 to 180 ->> 8000 to 10000
- Less than 180 ->> More than 10000
The merit list which is extended after the counselling may go up to 10000 or more.

I feel that this time the scores will be high given the pattern of papers. A score of 150 may get you to the list – however as you know a lot depends on individual scores in subjects as well.
To be sure of getting a good seat in the general category you need to be somewhere above 180.
And at about 195-200 you may be just ready to call shots.

sir ,i am in the EML of jee 2009.presently i am in cloud no. 9 and my joy knew no bound………….but !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the fact is that i am feeling insecure.insecure in the sense that i have prepared for aieee for 2 years and my estimated marks are 145…… do u now think i have psychologically cracked iit…..???????
