Valentine Week – Slap Day, Chocolate Day, Friendship Day, Rose day, Kiss Day, Valentines day

When is Slap Day, , Friendship Day, , and ?

As if the one day called Valentine day was not enough – people are now looking to progate the . Obviously the critics will term this as another marketing gimmik by companies who want to sell their stuff.

Here is what they say:

Valentine Week

  • Slap Day: Feb 9
  • Chocolate Day: Feb 10
  • Friendship Day: Feb 11
  • Rose day: Feb 12
  • Kiss Day : Feb 13
  • Valentine day: Feb14

The sequence above looks very interesting a fast forward of a typical movie. In this week things seem to move very fast – may be in the urgency to finish before the Valentine day.

Let’s see the story line:

  1. Slap Day: You slap your old boyfriend (for whatever wrong he did to you) and break all ties. Well actually we advise not to slap the person but “slap the ties”. You can send a “slap card” or a “slap email”.
  2. Chocolate Day: You are discovered by a new friend. On your meeting with him (or her) you have been gifted a chocolate.
  3. Friendship Day: Your relation with the person is now termed a friendship (we are just friends mom). That is all about friendship.
  4. Rose day: Your boyfriend gifts you roses (or just a rose – feeling matter not the rose). And relationship moves another step. Things are getting fast as the Valentine day (VDay) is just after two days.
  5. Kiss Day: The first kiss happens and now with the kiss you become valentines and obviously you are no more alone on this valentine (unless the Ram Sene…Aeeee)
  6. Valentine day: And finally this is the day you all waited for (for what reason only Saint Valentine might be knowing). Well if you want all days of the year can be Valentine day.

But as it is promoted (above) – this is not true and there are really very different days of the year which are celebrated as above days. We are listing them here:

Slap Day: We could not find any such day being officiall celebrated.

Chocolate Day:

  • The World Chocolate Day actually is on Jul 07

Friendship Day :

  • First Sunday of August every year is celebrated as Friendship Day (in this year it will be on August 2, 2009 Sunday). This is also called National Friendship Day in United States of America.
  • Women’s Friendship Day is on the third Sunday in August
  • International Friendship Month is the whole month of February
  • Old Friends, New Friends Week is the third week of May

Rose day: We could not find any such day being officiall celebrated.

Kiss Day:

  • International Kissing Day / National Kissing Day: July 6th
  • Some people also celebrate 28th April as Kiss Day

In modern Western culture kissing is the expression of affection, sexual desire, greeting. People kiss their lovers, children, parents, even pets. Kissing is present in everyone’s life. The longest kiss was recorded on April 5 1999 in Tel Aviv, Israel, during a kissing contest, and this kiss lasted 30 hours 45 minutes.

Scientists still argue about the origins of kissing: whether kissing is a learned or an instinctive behavior. Kissing is also seen between animals. According to one of the versions, kissing is supposed to come to us, humans, from birds, who premasticate food for their children. One more origin version is that kissing is related to grooming behavior. Kissing allows to taste and smell each other’s pheromones and thus check the biological compatibility of the couple – whether they have the right “chemistry” or not. The consensus has not been reached yet, but kissing is everywhere and this is the fact.

You can kiss on any day and do not need to wait for the kiss day. But beware – kiss only if your culture and Ram sene allows it.

Valentine day:

  • No doubt Valentine day is on Feb 14 every year.
