Times of India group’s Indiatimes (Indiatimes.com or Times Internet Limited) has launched a new social networking platform called itimes (itimes.com) which comes bundled with an email id.
http://www.itimes.com
Registration is very easy and you can register to itimes.com from the home page itself. It requires a email confirmation and on confirmation you can start networking.
The site already has some celebrity profiles and members can become fans of the celebrities like Sushmita Sen, Ranbeer Kapoor, Mallika Sherawat to name few. Here is a quick preview of the website:
Email: This is just like any other webmail. Looks more like indiatimes email in fact. You can get some good email id’s (like your name) if you register fast.
Network (Friend): You can invite, accept requests and manage your friends. You can also search your classmates based on your education profile.
Chat: Itimes has multiple chat rooms where you can chat publicly. You can also chat privately. Chat allows sending audio messages apart from emoticons.
What I did not like that there is no option to customize your home page (like a Google Start Page). I can not add new gadgets or widgets.
It can be noted that Indiatimes is the most popular Internet and mobile value-added services destination for the global Indian.

Its a nice initiative but needs lot of tuning and polishing. This Design is too basic and functional.
