Cut in petrol and diesel prices

The government on Wednesday said it may cut petrol and diesel prices further in “the next 2 to 3 weeks” and also slash cooking gas prices.

“We will try to reduce the prices of petrol and diesel in the next 2-3 weeks,” petroleum minister Murli Deora

Extent of reduction, though not decided be can be

• Petrol and diesel prices Somewhere between 2 to Rs 5 per litre
• Cooking gas prices: hinted at a reduction of Rs 20-25 per cylinder.
