Tech Mahindra offers merger with Satyam

According to reports Tech Mahindra, a Mahindra & Mahindra group company, is understood to have approached Satyam Computer Services, India’s fourth-largest IT services company, for a cashless merger, according to a person close to the development.

If the transaction goes through, it will involve Tech Mahindra merging into Satyam, creating the third-largest IT company in the country.

The management control of the merged entity will be in the hands of M&M as per unconfirmed  reports.

This report is coming at a time when Satyam Computer Services is tipped to be the best performer among India’s Top 5 IT firms. According to consensus estimates of six brokerages, Satyam is expected to report the highest growth in rupee revenues for the December quarter among its peer group and its dollar revenues are expected to be only a tad below its guidance.

There were also reports of Employee Buy Out (Employees pooling together to buy major stake) at Satyam.
